Authors in Their Own Words: Dr. Donna Clovis

The field of journalism is currently under attack in our country. Most people feel that journalists and news programs are at the very least politically biased. At the extreme, some go so far as to call some journalists and news outlets "fake news."

Still, we obviously need and will always need journalists. And, like fiction that centers on a main character who is a lawyer or a detective, fiction that centers around the life a journalist is rich in possibilities.

Dr. Donna Clovis (Twitter handle @Clovid01) delves into those possibilities in her book, The South of Black Forgiveness.

Here's what Dr. Clovis had to say about her book:

"Soaring unemployment, poverty, corruption and disease open a new genre of crime storytelling in the era of Coronavirus. The South of Black Forgiveness has secrets of memories which emerge to fulfill a haunting tale and Tanisha, a new journalist takes on the challenge. Remember the darkest moment occurs when one must face the self."
