One thing that most people have in common is the quest for love... romantic love, specifically. Another way to look at it is the quest for the love of a stranger or earned love.
Many people are obligated to love us. Sometime they love us despite us being us. A father loves a daughter, more than anything, because she's his daughter... even if her choices sometimes enrage him.
A stranger, though... if they do fall in love with you, it's for you. If you were doing the relationship right, you revealed your most real self. That's why it feels so good to have that vulnerability reciprocated with love. That's also why it hurts so much when that love fades or is betrayed.
Carin Camen (Twitter: @CarinCamen) takes on the subject of love in her poetry book, Reflections of the Heart:
"It is in the Realm of Love, that the heart sees the sunrise and sunset on love. Love’s realm is one we take knowing it isn’t if, but when our hearts will be broken. We hope that it will come after years together, when our hair is grey and we have lived a lifetime together.
It is this hope, that we face the rising sun. Come journey into the Realm of Love and discover the beauty that is also found in the setting of the sun."
The quest for love is one of life's most mysterious journeys. If you're looking for another perspective on love, check out Carin's book: HERE
